Program Overview
Healthcare emergencies often occur where specialised care is not immediately available. Early recognition, prompt stabilisation, and timely referral can significantly improve outcomes. This hands-on workshop equips frontline healthcare professionals with essential clinical skills to enhance patient safety, strengthen disaster preparedness, and build resilient communities.
Aligned with the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030, the programme supports local healthcare capacity building through education, teamwork, and practical skills training.
Course Description
BASIC Workshop is a one-day, hands-on training programme designed to develop essential clinical competencies for everyday practice and emergencies. Through interactive lectures, skill stations, and simulation-based learning, participants will gain practical experience in patient assessment, early recognition of deterioration, initial stabilisation, bedside procedures, communication, and teamwork to deliver safer and more coordinated care. Course Objectives
Identify acutely unwell patients and recognise signs of clinical deterioration.
Initiate appropriate first-line supportive measures and timely escalation of care.
Perform essential bedside procedures safely using standard precautions.
Demonstrate competency in Basic Life Support (BLS) and AED use.
Communicate effectively during handovers and referrals.
Work efficiently within healthcare teams, demonstrating leadership, situational awareness, and teamwork.

Additional Information
Participants who complete the programme will be awarded a Certificate of Completion.
Attendance in all sessions and participation in practical skill stations are mandatory for certification.
