Emergency Medicine is the speciality of rapid recognition, immediate stabilisation, and timely disposition of patients with acute illness or injury. The role of the Emergency Medical Technologist is to identify life-threatening conditions, initiate evidence-based emergency care, and support definitive treatment through safe practice and effective teamwork.
